News to make New York area bars happy: According to the Boston Globe (via Y! and brooklynmutt) free agent pitcher David Wells is hoping the Mets or the Diamondbacks will ring his phone. “David is ready to go and could be ready to pitch in a major league game in two weeks,” said Wells’s agent, Gregg Clifton.

The Walkens — funniest part of last night’s SNL (via hulu)
The craziest thing I saw when I was in college was this LSU fan who was waiting for us by our bus. He had a real hog’s head stuck on a stick and was just standing there staring at us. I couldn’t believe it. Then our bench was only like 10-15 yards from the stands, so we could hear them yelling the whole game. They were cursing us out, telling us to go home, but all I could think about was that hog’s head.
